Who we are

We are making financial literacy fun and accessible around the world by developing a game with young people for young people.

Our journey so far

So many young people are leaving school with little financial knowledge which is causing them worry and stress. Unfortunately many are also living in poverty and have no role models to help them see how they can make a positive change. After many years in the Banking Industry, we began by developing an in-person workshop which has been delivered to 100’s of school children in Central Scotland. We have had interest from many people from further afield and to reach as many young people as possible we recognised that we had to expand the business.

Whilst on an Elevator Course, it was suggested the in-person game could be gamified. This was not our original plan but made complete sense. The we met with Interface and through them, set up a Real Life project with Robert Gordon University. We had 3 groups of undergraduates evaluating the idea. This was really successful and the project then got developed further at Saxony University. Next step was successfully gaining an Innovate Voucher to enable us to partner with Glasgow School of Art. The Knowledge Transfer Partnership project has started in a Glasgow Primary School and is now being developed with the young people to ensure the game is something that they will enjoy playing whilst learning fundamental life skills.

P7 pupils are involved in the initial development and once this game is developed, we will work with P6 and S1 to develop the game for this age range. The ultimate goal is to have a game that pupils can play from age 4-5 as they are starting school until aged 16-18 when they leave. This can then be developed for other sectors of society as many adults could benefit.

The long term vision is that this game will be available in many languages and adapted to many cultures so it can be played globally. Young people will be able to have fun and not even realise that they are learning life skills whilst they are online.
